Uphealth is looking for a creative, detail-oriented Flutter Developer to bring dynamic animated avatars to life in our mobile experience. This contract role is focused on building interactive avatar states that respond to user input—helping make mental health support more human, expressive, and real-time.

You’ll work closely with our design and engineering team to integrate animations using Rive or Lottie, and help ensure smooth, high-performance delivery across devices.

What You’ll Do

• Build and integrate animated avatars using Rive and/or Lottie in Flutter
• Design responsive emotional states (e.g., smiling, frowning, crying) triggered by user interaction
• Manage state logic to control avatar expressions and transitions
• Collaborate with designers and backend engineers to deliver a seamless experience
• Write clean, modular Dart code with clear documentation
• Optimize animations for performance and maintain cross-device quality
• Support and troubleshoot animation-related features as needed

What We’re Looking For

• Experience shipping production Flutter apps (live on the App Store or Play Store)
• Strong command of Dart and Flutter frameworks
• Proven experience with Rive and/or Lottie for interactive mobile animations
• Deep understanding of state management (e.g., Riverpod, Bloc, Provider)
• Comfortable implementing interactive features like onboarding and subscriptions
• Familiar with Git and collaborative workflows
• Strong eye for detail, animation quality, and performance
• Clear communicator who thrives in remote and async teams

Bonus If You Have

• A portfolio showing expressive animations or avatar work
• Experience working with vector graphics and animation rigs
• Familiarity with profiling and optimizing animation assets
